Step-by-Step Method to Eliminate Ants
Step 1: Identify the Ant Trails
Observe where the ants are coming from and where they’re going. Look for lines along walls, countertops, baseboards, or windowsills. Tracking their path allows you to treat the problem accurately.
Step 2: Mix the Solution
In a spray bottle, mix equal parts white vinegar and water (or lemon juice and water for a fresher scent).
For extra strength, add a few drops of dish soap. This helps break down the ants’ outer layer and increases effectiveness on contact.
Step 3: Spray Directly on the Ants
Spray the solution directly onto visible ants. It works immediately and begins breaking down their scent trail at the same time.
Step 4: Wipe Away the Trails
After spraying, wipe the treated surfaces with a damp cloth or paper towel. This step is crucial — it removes the pheromone trail completely so other ants cannot follow it.
